When most people at 65 years of age are thinking about retirement, Lyle Barrett decided to give back to the industry that gave him so much over 50 years of employment. Lyle aimed to create an RTO dedicated to providing quality training in Automotive Air Conditioning to the Western Australian automotive industry.
This business, Assured Learning Australia, began with one course a month here in Perth, and grew purely by word-of-mouth to one course a week, including a high demand from the mining sector and the addition of regional and interstate locations. Assured Learning has now grown to include apprenticeship upgrades, from light to heavy vehicle, a niche market that helps technicians further their careers and supports industry needs. With Lyle now ready for retirement, we are looking forward to what the next 10 years hold.
