Young people today are struggling to cope during this often-turbulent phase of their lives without the necessary guidance, support and encouragement of trusted, genuine professionals.They are dealing with immense societal pressures, peer pressure, pressure to be liked and succeeding at everything they do. At the same time young people are also struggling to identify their core values and beliefs, manage bullying and cyber bullying, body image and self-love, goal-setting, direction and motivation, self-esteem and an inability to see their strengths, academic performance, the influence of drugs and alcohol, safe sex choices, time and money management, desire to please others, personal responsibility and accountability for choices and consequences, developing career possibilities post school, employment, interpersonal relationships and conflict, isolation, risk taking behaviour such as driving a vehicle, fear of failure, assertiveness, mental illness, physical disabilities and suicide. This is just to name some of the many areas of concern and challenges that youth have to manage on a daily basis. Youth Life Coaching and Mentoring for young people is a skill required by anyone responsible for the well being of young people; parents, teachers, employers, youth workers, sports coaches, to name a few. The Youth Life Coaching process equips & skill builds people to engage with young people on all of the above, general conditions and transitions in the young person’s personal life, relationships or profession by examining what is happening to them right now, discovering what the obstacles or challenges might be and provide strategies to assist them to make life what they want it to be. Facilitator - Lee Harper-Penman Lee is Chiricahua Apache first nation on his mothers side, Anglo Indian English on his fathers side and is best described as a High-Performance Coach in Culture. He originates from the UK, and has worked in a variety of roles, from major organisations to working with at-risk youth and is recognised as one of the UK ’s most qualified life coaches. In Australia, Lee has been instrumental in the design and delivery of mentoring, coaching and support services targeted at youth, Aboriginal communities and employees in various industries. He has been acknowledged as a unique and distinctive authority in the field of business and community performance enhancement with both a style and approach that can only be described as outstanding and to the point .
